Youth Rights and Citizenship Initiative

Youth Rights and Citizenship Initiative, (also referred to under the acronym YRCI Albania), is an Albanian Youth NGO established in April 2023, by its founder, Dr.Eliona Gremi. In reference to our Act of Incorporation, Statute of Limitation and internal by law, we are a non-commercial, non-governmental, organization whose scope mainly covers (but is not limited to) raising public awareness and knowledge on activism, by providing training opportunities, awareness raising activities, competitions, by writing and implementing projects, as well as advocating on youth rights and awareness.








Our mission

The mission of YRCI Albania is multifaceted, focusing on empowering the youth to actively participate in the democratic life of their communities and beyond. It aims to:

  • Enhance public awareness and knowledge on activism, providing training, awareness-raising activities, and competitions.
  • Advocate for youth rights and awareness to empower young people by amplifying their voices and championing their rights.
  • Engage young people not only locally but also nationally and internationally, promoting multiculturalism, experience sharing, peacebuilding, and capacity raising.

  • Civic Engagement and Participation: YRCI has a history of organizing events and workshops that promote civic engagement and encourage young people to become active citizens in their communities. These initiatives support young individuals in starting their own community projects.
  • Advocacy for Youth Rights: The organization has experience in advocating for youth rights and promoting youth-led initiatives at local, national, and international levels. It works with policymakers, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of young people's issues and advocate for policies that support their well-being.
  • Cultural and Sport Engagement: YRCI places a strong emphasis on cultural and sport engagement, organizing cultural events, festivals, and sport days that promote intercultural dialogue, understanding, and general health and wellbeing. These activities serve to bring young people from diverse backgrounds together to share their cultural experiences and learn from one another.
