RISE & CODE: Empowering Girls Through Digital Skills & Entrepreneurship
Description
RISE & CODE is an inspiring initiative implemented by Youth Rights & Citizenship Initiative (YRCI Albania) with the support of World Vision Albania and the European Union.
The project aims to empower young women aged 16–24 from Elbasan and Librazhd by developing their digital, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills, helping them transform knowledge into opportunity.
Through a blend of practical trainings and professional mentoring, participants explore how to use technology not only as a tool for learning, but also as a pathway to financial independence and innovation. By connecting digital literacy with entrepreneurship, the project seeks to reduce economic vulnerability and promote gender equality in communities where opportunities for young women are often limited.
Each participant becomes part of a dynamic journey — from learning about online safety, creativity, and programming to building business ideas, testing prototypes, and presenting them at the final “Demo Day” event. Along the way, the project nurtures confidence, critical thinking, and collaboration.
RISE & CODE envisions a generation of young women who are ready to code, create, and lead change in their societies. “Every girl deserves the skills, tools, and confidence to shape her own digital and economic future.”
